PUUR Origin
Our founder, Richard Lee, did not create PUUR to save the world but to first save himself.
Richard's PUUR journey started over 20 years ago from sheer desperation after being failed over and over and over by the "mental health" system. Richard had sought out "the experts" to cure his trauma caused by being an orphan in a third-world country and his level-10 ACEs trauma caused by toxic caregivers. The mental (behavioral) health system failed him as it does for nearly 100% of people who seek its help. Back then, Richard did not know this was a parasitic system; it needs to create more failures to feed on. When patients lose—this system wins, as many top studies now show.
So Richard, failed by the mental health system, in a futile effort, just buried himself in work. But no matter how much "success" Richard created from being a tech founder at age 19, to having a NASDAQ IPO by 34 with a company of almost 3,000 employees; his deep unhealed traumas would cause him chronic unhappiness, bad relationships, self-sabotage, including toxic stress, anxiety, addiction, depression, sickness "SAADS." All of these lead to Richard's suicide attempt at age 36, at the top of his success.
As Richard says, "Before PUUR, unhappiness, emptiness, and SAADS were basically my life."
After his failed suicide (which was interrupted by his childhood friend, Andrea), Richard knew that if he did not solve his problems, he would continue to live in drudgery and attempt suicide again. So with great desperation, he focused his love for tech and data not only on business, but also on the business of curing himself, and have sustainable health and wellbeing.
Then everything changed when Richard discovered, perfected, and practiced PUUR.
