"I’d finish my meditation feeling worse because I’d spent the whole attempt berating myself for not being able to quiet my mind, and then berating myself for berating myself" -Madeleine Aggeler
"[After a month of mindfulness] I feel on edge. I have a permanent tension headache and I jump at the slightest unexpected noise. The fact that something seemingly benign, positive and hugely popular had such a profound negative effect has taken me by surprise." -Dawn Foster
Are Dawn and Madeleine alone in their suffering of "Mindfulness"? Hardly. Studies show, the vast-majority who try mindfulness—quit. But, they do so shaming and blaming themselves for not being "good enough." And most keep silent about "their" failure. This, is toxic shame—the #1 cause of mental illness. This, is what mindfulness leaves behind—much more so than not.
How can this be? A practice with so many claims of being the panacea is leaving millions like Dawn and Madeleine with toxic shame and mental illness. Welcome to the brilliant mass distribution (at any cost) of McMindfulness—the faux-buddhism.
What would you want if you were a big heartless corporation? You would want to maximize the production from your slaves (oops, I mean workers). To that end, what top 3 traits would you want your workers to have?
1. You would want them to shut up and work
2. You would want them to blame themselves for all their problems
3. You would want them to keep silent about their problems to peers
Interestingly, those are the top 3 behaviors being ingeniously spun as “virtues” by the mindfulness peddlers. Why? Because their #1 market are the heads of big corporations—the ones seeking to maximize workers at any cost. Now, thank goodness, not every big corporation is heartless. But do you think the vast majority of big corporations care more about their profits or their people?
Is this just a non-substantiated conspiracy theory? See for yourself the many top studies and real Buddhist teachers warning of this sad reality, and discover the #1 lie of “mindfulness” and why they need you to shut up about it.
In his research book, McMindfulness, Prof. of Business Management at San Fransisco State University and ordained teacher of Zen Buddhism for over 25 years, Dr. Ron Purser explains (in paraphrase), McDonald’s Hamburger became a behemoth by stripping out the fresh nutrients of its “food” items. By stripping out the nutrients they were able to enjoy mass distribution thus massive profits. Never mind that their pseudo-food made people sick…and obese.
In the same way, McMindfulness has stripped away the top 6 most nutritious disciplines from Buddhism’s Eightfold Path—which are built on the practice of moral and ethical purity. See below left, Buddhism's Eightfold Path: look down to 7. & 8., notice how “Mindfulness” and concentration are the last of importance . Also notice, it's the "Right" mindfulness and "Right" concentration. This, also stripped out by McMindfulness.
How patronizing and damaging is McMindfulness? For an illustration, look at the above right, Buffism’s Eightfold Path—the eight physical exercises to get buff, most recommended by trainers—in order of importance. Notice the very bottom of the list, 7 & 8, tricep dips and wrist curls—these two exercises we'll call, “Bodfulness.”
Now imagine someone seeing the opportunity to strip Buffism of its top 6 most nutritious core disciplines and sell books and seminars of Bodfulness. The masses always falls for promises of BIG RESULTS—For Easy Work! This is a easy sell.
So 1st step, don't let the masses know about the top 6 most important exercises of Buffism. Just omit the truth. 2nd step, they make themselves a self-proclaimed Bodfulness "guru." And since 99% of the masses don't do their homework—they blindly believe.
Then this peddler of Bodfulness puts out propaganda that says, Dwayne Johnson and Arnold Schwarzenegger does bodfulness! The masses go wow! Now, here's the genius of this peddler; what they say is true—kind of.
Dwayne and Arnold does do tricep dips and wrist curl. But how much does bodfulness truly attribute to their massive physic? Tiny itzy bitzy. So little, most weight lifters don't even do wrist curls.
Dwayne And Arnold Does Bodfulness! You Can Be Like Them!
Now imagine most of the media jumping in on this truth-twisted fake news. They copy and paste this fake news—over and over—all over media until the unknowing masses believe bodfulness is the panacea and “science."
Then comes the troves of other self-proclaimed Bodfulness "gurus and experts" to ride the bodfulness media hype.
So like Dawn and Madeleine you unknowingly buy into that fake science too and you get on a bodfulness app—guiding you to do 10-minute tricep dips and wrist curls—all while you’re dreaming to one day soon, be head-to-toe beautifully chiseled.
But you're not getting what you were sold, rather, your whole core—legs, chest, abs, back...isn’t getting stronger nor bigger—but oppositely, you are actually getting physically weaker from atrophy. You're also not losing the weight you want. So you quit, but who do you blame? You. Why? Because you bought into the false belief that bodfulness was the panacea to lead you to being buff. So you think it's you who "failed" bodfulness—when the hidden truth is, it was bodfulness that failed you.
So you feel ashamed (when it's the Bodfulness peddlers who should feel ashamed). Your shame talk sounds like, “I must not be good enough for bodfulness, etc." "Uh, I'm a failure—again, I give up!" Of course, you keep your bodfulness failure and shame silent. That is what most people do with shame—hide it. It's how shame makes us sick...in our secrecy of it. Your silence is a bodfulness win.
And their 2nd win? You keep paying for the bodfulness app (like 87% of people who pay for gyms don’t use it) to make themselves feel less ashamed of not going to the gym.
In short, they keep your money and you keep their shame. And they got you to shut up about it. Welcome to McMindfulness.
Now you either give up on self-improvement like 50% of Americans have, or you go chase the next "shiny" where you become The Host body for other parasitic feeders peddling fake science.
So what is the #1 lie of “Mindfulness”? A: That it’s the core practice of Buddhists. It just not. It’s a lie spun out of western capitalism to keep its workers silent and slaving, as revealed by many top studies, including real Buddhist trainers like Prof. Ron Purser in his book, McMindfulness.
The truth is, as revealed in Buddhism's Eightfold Path; true Buddhists do dyad co-meditation for ethical and moral purity with each other, MUCH MORE than they do “mindfulness" alone. Why? Because mindfulness is boring, and for the same reason why no true weight lifter will do just tricep dips and wrist curls—it's not the way to Buffism.
Furthermore, to compare tricep dips and wrist curls to “mindfulness” is doing mindfulness a HUGE FAVOR. Why? Because at least tricep dips and wrist curls do what they’re intended to do. While oppositely, the jury is still very out on the efficacy of mindfulness. Just do some light digging and you will see how very weak its science is.
However, the jury IS IN on the dangers of mindfulness in increasing narcissism, stress, anxiety, depression, and mental illness in its practitioners. Everyday this fake-buddhism is hurting many more unsuspecting victims like Dawn and Madeleine.
But what about those celebrities and athletes who seem so put together touting mindfulness!?
News flash! Narcissists love naval gazing, and celebrity endorsements of scientific garbage is nothing new:
Lastly, don't let the "spiritual" facade fool you: the mindfulness...camp is not without its own sexual and financial scandals.
If you want to practice the real deal--try PUUR co-meditation. 5-minute PUUR beat mindfulness (hands down) in the world’s largest neuroscience study. Watch the summary study here. The “battle" was like pitting a preschool bully against Schwarzenegger at his peak. PUUR has no equal in efficacy because it delivers the truth—the whole truth—and nothing but the pure truth.
In closing, one of the core traits that makes you unique is your story: the unfolding, learning, and pains of your life everyday. As a human, you hold the one unique gift other mammals do not have—the ability to speak articulately about how you feel, how you think, what your dreams are. Don't let them shut you up!
Ultimately, the #1 purpose of your wonderful design is to practice vulnerability so you can embody love, to give that love and all its essence...to others. That cannot happen unless the deepest parts of you are heard and thus seen by safe people. So please, don’t let them enslave you in silence. Don’t let them make you shut up.
Is their go-to advice of using shrinks and "mindfulness" working?
The U.S. CDC is the gold standard around the world for curing infectious diseases like AIDS or Ebola. It's no exaggeration to say, the CDC is the "Michael Jordan" of infectious disease. So it is easy to see why so many smart people just blindly take the CDC's advice in regards to trying to improve their behavioral health, like healing early trauma or obesity.
However, the truth shows, this blind faith is not well placed and has been a deadly mistake of titanic proportions.
Like Michael Jordan's basketball greatness did NOT transfer into baseball. He was horrible. Even he admitted such. The shocking truth is; the CDC's greatness does NOT transfer into behavioral health. Their results are also horrible.
Look no further than the #1 behavioral health project of the CDC for the past 20 years—obesity.
What is the obesity report card of the CDC using an army of shrinks with countless PH.Ds spending our billions?
The CDC's utter failure here has caused millions of families to be ripped apart from downstream problems of obesity.
Above results come from the CDC's common advice of using shrinks and meditation to supposedly improve behaviors. In the '80s the CDC recommended Zen, now it's mindfulness—never mind it's pseudoscience and faux-Buddhism.
So regarding ACEs trauma; the CDC is regurgitating the same old failed quack advice—shrinks and meditation.
These have a "success rate" of about 7%. A near 100% failure rate, as empirical results (like above) and top studies show.
The final shocker, since the 1950's to present day, many ground breaking studies have shown; the individual (with guided knowledge and safe peers) is a better "therapist" to themselves when compared to shrinks. This fact doesn't even include cost, stigma, the slow response and inconvenience of seeing a shrink..., assuming you find a good one—which are very rare.
So do you want to be quacked by the "experts" or be your own expert at PUUR?
